Users
The Users tab under your Infosec account allows you to manage users that are associated with your account. Any admin user created inside of IQ account settings will be added to your user list. Additionally any learner who authenticates through SSO will also be added to the Users list. Users will not have access to anything other than their own learner dashboard unless they are explicitly granted access.
Permissions
There are two levels of permissions available to users in Infosec Accounts:
- User: Anyone with the User role will be able to authenticate through Infosec Accounts, but will have no access to any administrator functions. Learners who are added through SSO will have the User role. The User role can also be used to effectively disable an admin while keeping them in the system.
- Organization Admin: Anyone with the Organization Admin role will be able to manage all settings inside of Infosec Accounts. By default anyone who is added to Infosec IQ as an administrator will also have permissions to make changes within Infosec Accounts.
Note: When a Reporting user is added to Infosec IQ, the user will have the User role in Infosec Accounts and will not be able to manage any organization-level settings.
Adding Users
There are three ways that users can be added to your Infosec account:
- By authenticating through SSO: all learners will be added to Infosec Accounts when authenticating through SSO. Users added this way will have only the User role and will be unable to perform any admin functions.
- Inside of Infosec IQ: this is how IQ admins should be added. When an admin is added inside of Infosec IQ they will automatically receive Organization Admin access in Infosec Accounts.
- Click New User in Infosec Account: If a user is added this way, and not through Infosec IQ, they can only manage settings in Infosec Accounts and will not have any access to Infosec IQ. This is useful, for example, when another team needs to configure SSO; a user could be given access to Infosec Accounts without granting any access to the Infosec IQ application.
Editing Users
A user’s information and permissions can be updated at any time. To do this, click the “three dots” menu next to the user and select Edit User. If a user’s permissions change in Infosec IQ it may be necessary to modify their Infosec Accounts permissions as well.
Note: a user’s email address cannot be updated. If a user’s email address changes they will need to be deleted and re-added.
Global Admin Accounts
Global Admin users now have access to all users across all subaccounts in their account in addition to managing users in individual accounts. When clicking Users in the upper-right you will see a list of all users across all subaccounts. To look at users in one specific account, navigate to Organizations, click on the name of the organization, and then click the Users tab here.
